| The annual
tournament programme gets underway on Saturday
3rd July with the staging of the Jim Mulholland
Memorial Cup U10 eleven-a-side football
competition. Each team is guaranteed four
games and there is a subsidiary Shield competition.
Then on Saturday 10th July
it’s the Brian O’Hare Cup for U12 nine-a-side
football teams. Again in a tightly run programme
each team plays a minimum four times and
there is a Shield event.
On Saturday 17th July it’s
the Paul Farrell Memorial Cup for U14 seven-a-side
football teams and again each team is sure
of several matches in either the Cup or
Shield competition.
There are still some places
left in various of the tournaments. Each
days football throws-in at 10:30am and the
finals are scheduled for 3:30pm. It all
runs pretty much to schedule with no long
breaks between games. Refreshments are provided
for teams and accompanying adults. Entry
fee is $25.
Then on Saturday 31st July
it’s the turn of the camogie players with
the Patsy Conkey U14 Cup and the Sharon
Morgan Memorial minor (U16) Cup competitions.
Both are seven-a-side and run on the same
pitches. There is only room for eight teams
in the camogie and there are still vacancies
to be filled. There is no entry fee.
