Queens Univeristy Belfast has acknowledged John Clarke (An Riocht) with a Half Blues at the annual Universities Annual Blues Dinner which took place in June.

Other Gaelic players to be honoured included Armagh's All Ireland winners Patrick McKeever and Kevin McElvanna who both received Full Blue Awards.

Another Down man Dan McCartan was also honoured alongside Martin McGrath (Fermanagh), Colm Brady (Antrim), Conall Dunne (Donegal) William McSorley (Armagh) Kevin McGourty (Antrim) Dick Clerkin (Monaghan) Sean Kelly (Antrim)
