Senior
Football Ballyholland v
An Riocht
30/05/2005
In
Ballyholland on Thursday
another one got away,
with the locals
finishing a goal to the
good, 2:11 to 1:11.
We
had to work very hard
for our scores while at
the other end Ronan Murtagh proved too hot
to handle finishing with
2:6 and winning a
penalty brilliantly
saved by Brendan
McVeigh. At one stage
there was seven points
between the teams though
we had that down to the
minimum by the break.
A
slow start to the second
half allowed Ballyholland pull away
again and left us
chasing the result
against the clock, going
for goals too early
probably cost us a share
of the points. It was
good to see Ciaran
McVeigh back from
injury, coming on for
the first time this
season he scored a goal
and put an end to the
Ballyholland backs
coming out unopposed.
