This was a good tough game of football and just what was needed before the start of the league next Sunday. Whitecross goaled early on and kept that advantage during the first half. We had chances but failed to make anything of them kicking several times into the keeper. Half time changes improved our play. Substitutes Paddy Cole and Aidan Cunningham combined well up the left wing with Neill Doran resulting in 1:8 of our 1:11 total, and Cole could have had two goals striking bar and post on separate occasions.

Ciaran Walsh is proving an able play maker while Paddy Small made his presence felt around the middle of the field. Paul Sherry made a promising debut on the half back line where Deaglan O’Reilly and Liam Fitzpatrick completed an uncompromising line.
