Senior
Football Burren v An
Riocht
19/04/2005
Too many chances not
taken contributed to a
disappointing loss in
Burren on Friday. Ahead
for long periods we
failed to put the game
beyond the home side and
did not convert a single
free during the hour.
That all combined to
allow Burren to snatch
the win with a last gasp
goal which on the
preceding play should
have been no more than a
consolation score.
Brendan McVeigh was
steady in goals and had
no chance with Burrens
close range strike; Liam
McVeigh and Deaglan
O’Reilly were sound in
the centre of defence
with best support from
Colin Flanagan and Aidan
Cunningham; Paul Murney
was the pick of the
midfielders with a
particularly good first
half showing; up front
Martin Clarke until
injured and Neill Doran
clearly carried our
biggest threat.
