Senior
Football An Riocht v Maghery
14/03/2005
The Ulster League finished with
another defeat, 1:10 to 2:12,
and two more dismissals. Having
gone through twenty five league
and championship games last season
without a single sending off and
coming from the supposedly soft
Down league it has been a shock
to lose three players in four
Ulster games.
Maghery
had us under almost constant pressure
in the first half as we continually
failed to clear our lines. Six
frees and a goal in added time
helped the visitors to a 1:8 to
1:4 half time lead. A second volleyed
goal seconds into the restart
gave Maghery an unassailable cushion
and left An Riocht chasing the
game.
We played hard in the second half
and showed some good spirit but
Maghery added three further frees
during the half to remain comfortable
to the finish.
Thanks to those who helped with
the teas.
