A fine first
forty minutes was eclipsed by
a final quarter collapse. Jim
Clarke was the most influencial
player on the field and his
withdrawal injured certainly
impacted but should not disguise
other short comings.
Long kick outs
and quick deliveries were abandoned
in preference of an aimless
short game which facilitated
Kilcoos tigerish tacklers and
resulted in us being penned
back in our own half conceding
the initiative and eventually
the match winning scores.
Earlier Jim
had pulled down some spectacular
balls and surged forward opening
up Kilcoo and scoring two brilliant
points in the process. Barry
Annett, Liam Mc Veigh and Neill
Doran were others who cut a
dash while Adrian Annett held
his man scoreless. Gavin Finnegan
made a sound debut in goals.
