The seniors
lost in Clonduff but the result
was overshadowed by a serious
injury to midfielder Paul Murney.
Best wishes to Paul for a complete
recovery and thanks to the ambulance
service for their speedy response.
An Riocht were
playing well, Murney was dominant
at centre field and the forwards
were thriving on a good early
supply. Paddy Cole had taken
a nice goal and though there
were too many wides there was
also some attractive approach
play and memorable points scored.
Fielding minus
the county and St. Louis players
and with four injured men already
in the dug out, full back Steven
Flanagan made that five after
a quarter hour. Still we led
1:4 to 0:2 five minutes before
the break. Then Paul was hurt
and in the time added on Clonduff
plundered 1:2 from our disarray.
Next centre forward Barry Annett
limped out of the match at half
time.
A combination
of frees and spectacular points
gradually edged Clonduff in
front and though we did not
stop trying the result was gone
well before the final whistle.
