V. Ballyholland 19/08/2003
When these boys move the ball quickly
they are a joy
to watch. Their passing skills can
carve open opposition defences and
their inside forwards lie in, hold
their positions and have a real eye
for a score.
However on occasions they do tend
to over play the ball and delay the
pass and against stronger opposition
that could be costly. Of course forward
possession relies on a break at mid-field
and Christopher Killen Is as good
a player as I have seen this Year
while Conor Doyle and Darren White
play Intelligent football around the
forty. Conor Phillips has really Improved
at centre back and they have already
done better than expected this year.
The Ballyholland Game was closer than
the final scoreline of 8:16 to 4:10,
with An Riochts last three scores
being goals.

Bredagh
ran Feile Champions close 24/05/2003
An Ríocht 2-5
Bredagh 2-3, at An Riocht
Bredagh went into this game considered
by many as rank outsiders against
the reigning All-Ireland Feile Champions,
but came away from Kilkeel unlucky
to lose and with the respect of all
who were watching. With the wind in
the first half Bredagh ran up an early
1-2 to 0-0 lead through Sean Irwin
and Niall Nolan points and a long-range
Paddy Donnelly goal.
An Riocht fought back well and scored
two points before the break. The wind
and rain got up at half time and An
Riocht hit an early wind-assisted
goal and point. Bredagh fought back
with a Niall Colton goal from a free
to lead by two, but it wasn't to be
and another 1-2 from An Riocht saw
them run out winners despite a late
Matthew Hollywood point.

An
Ríocht knocked out of Feile Peil
17/07/2002
An Riocht just failed to repeat their
title-winning feats of last year.
After facile victories over St. Joseph's
(7-10 to 0-1) and O'Hanrahan's (3-9
to 1-2), An Riocht exited at the quarter-final
stage to Simonstown (1-5 to 0-9).
Thanks to the St. Joseph's, Laois,
people who could not do enough for
the 80 plus An Riocht group.
